Correct body position means a better balance, it also means better control and more confidence. It is also required if you want your horse to be comfortable to ride.

9. Neck and Head Side Curve Stretch

This is a wonderful stretch for the muscles of the neck, front of the shoulder and poll such as the multifidus cervicis, brachiocephalicus, rhomboideus cervicis and the scalenus muscles.

10. Neck Hug Stretch

This is an excellent stretch for the muscles at the base of the neck and on the side of the neck such as the scalenus, trapezius, multifidus cervicis and brachiocephalicus.

11. Hips and Pelvic Rock and Hold Stretch

This stretch is great for the muscles surrounding the hips, pelvis and sacroiliac (SI) joint as well as the gluteal and oblique muscles.

12. Shoulder and Bent Front Leg Stretch

This is an excellent stretch for the muscles in the shoulder area including the triceps and teres minor as well as muscles located on the back portion of the horse's leg including the ulnaris lateralis, flexor carpi ulnaris and radialis. Your horse will also get some stretch in the withers pocket area and other parts of their back muscles behind the scapula (shoulder blade.)
